Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your loving, your loving behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can't you hear the horses
Cause here they come"
~Florence and the Machine
A new year at St. Johns has begun. The story of a country boy becoming a city kid continues. First of all, the lyrics above are part of a great song. Anyone who has not heard it needs to open up a new tab, go to youtube, and type in Florence and the Machine- dog days are done. Anywho, the sophomore year at St. Johns has started off as good as I could have hoped I'd say. I haven't encountered any professors with inaudible accents nor have I set foot in the city of Newark. Two thumbs up there.
Tomorrow I am going into Manhattan to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is not for pure leisurely enjoyment. I have to write a "visual analysis" on one of the paintings there for my Discover New York Class. The class is more or less a joke so I'm not too worried, plus two the museum admission is purely donation, great for poor college students. After art viewing? not really sure the term for it, but afterwards I'm heading next door to take a stroll in Central Park. I figure that is the closest to home I will get for another couple weeks. I'm talking about the trees and green for those of you who didn't catch that.
No real complaints yet this early in the year other than the fact that I am digging my way into piles of debt, and St. Johns cant provide a network fast enough to load a 30 second youtube video. My netflix viewing will have to go on hold til some of my tuition money kicks in and helps pay for network repairs. Other than that..no complains. More stories to come after visiting the Met and central park.
Til next time,
Bhoov
