Alice in Wonderland

I just got back from the movies, from the heading of the blog you could probably guess what movie I saw. Alice in Wonderland has great graphics and special effects but I felt that the only connection I had with the movie was the memories of the original cartoon edition. Don't get me wrong, it was very entertaining, but if you are looking for a movie that will totally blow you away then this isn't the film for you. Narnia on steroids would basically be the best way I can describe Alice in Wonderland.

AA Three Times

Well, I was in a table game tonight. Nothing big, little 8 person tourney with a $10 buyin. I took third. Not a great night, caught absolutely no cards on flops. I had decent starting hands but raising preflop is pointless because guys at the table think K6 is good as long as it is suited. I knew it wasn't going to be my night when I picked up pocket aces, min raised, and everyone folded. Bad sign right off the bat. Then I had KK..same thing. 2nd to last hand of the night for me I had only about 3 big blinds left, and I was in the big blind. I went all in blind, before the cards were even dealt. The cards were dealt, I never looked at my cards. The two people left, thought about it (it was only about 5% of the one guys stack) and then folded. I turned my cards over, just to see what I had...AA...so at that point I knew that nothing was falling where it should and that I was done. Next hand I shove with A4, guy calls with K6...he hits a K on the flop..and it holds up.

That was my night,

The Oscars

Well, I spent the night watching the Oscars. I thought Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin did an excellent job hosting, as well as picking fun at their fellow celebrities. I'm extremely suprised that The Hurt Locker basically cleaned up in all categories. Avatar may be the best movie I have ever seen, so it looks like I'll have to see The Hurt Locker.

Theres not a whole lot going on here at home, other than relaxing. I made a website for Megan's mom and her craft business. If you are looking for creative Christmas ornaments you should check it out. The page is not yet finished, but here is the link so you can get an idea.
